The Farmville Parks & Recreation and Public Library departments are excited to provide the “Farmville Moves” program as a way to promote health and wellness in a supportive group setting. This six-week series serves not only as a lead up to the Town of Farmville’s 6th annual 5k & Fun Run on May 9, but also encourages individuals to begin or continue their walking, jogging or running journey.

The free “Farmville Moves” program will occur each Monday and Wednesday from (Dates to TBD). This program will be held at the Town of Farmville’s Athletic Complex (4240 West Horne Ave) from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Participants will have access to the track that runs the perimeter of the Athletic Complex. Participants will also enjoy walking,  jogging or running in a group from the Athletic Complex to Oliver Murphrey Park and back, or additional routes through nearby neighborhoods. In addition to exercise, health and wellness professionals will attend occasional sessions to provide short talks about staying healthy and exercising safely. Health and exercise books from the library will also be available for checkout at each event. All experience levels and age groups are encouraged to attend.

 Those with consistent participation will receive FREE admission to the Farmville 5k & Fun Run! 

*Consistent participation is defined as follows: participant attends at least 8 of the 12 sessions between the start and end of the program.
